To promote an interest in bushwalking, camping, birdwatching, nature photography, local history and the natural environment.
The club was founded in Inverell, New South Wales, in 1992 and currently has a membership of around 35. We draw our membership not only from Inverell and district, but from as far afield as Glen Innes, Armidale, and Deepwater.
The Inverell Bushwalking Club is an Incorporated body with Bushwalking NSW and has Public Liability cover.
Club meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every second month in March, May, July, September and November. Meetings are held at 7.30pm in the Common Room at Inverell High School. These are fairly informal affairs and provide members and visitors a chance to discuss future walks and reminisce on past ones. Visitors are always welcome.
The club produces a small but informative and interesting newsletter five times a year. Contact us and ask for a free copy.
A Walks Programme is also published five times a year and comes out with the newsletter.
During the summer months when it is usually too hot to walk, we often hold day outings to other towns, places of interest, and local attractions.
